Field Inspector - RSQ Fire Protection

RSQ Fire Protection is an industry leader that has provided quality fire protection services for nearly 15 years. We handle a variety of work, ranging from large contract projects to small service repairs.

Location: Champaign, IL area
Work Arrangement : Full-time, field-based position
Responsibilities
As a Field Inspector, you will inspect and test fire protection systems to help ensure they are operating properly and meet applicable requirements. You will work directly with customers and RSQ team members to document inspection results, communicate deficiencies, and help keep fire protection systems safe and reliable.
Essential Functions
- Perform scheduled inspections and testing of fire protection systems at customer locations throughout the Champaign area.
- Inspect system components for proper operation and identify deficiencies, repairs, or service needs.
- Complete accurate inspection reports and required documentation in a timely manner.
- Clearly explain inspection findings and recommended next steps to customers and internal team members.
- Coordinate with RSQ’s service and operations teams when repairs or follow-up work are needed.
- Maintain an organized schedule while completing assigned inspections efficiently.
- Follow applicable fire protection codes, safety requirements, and company standards.
- Maintain inspection tools, testing equipment, and assigned company property.
- Provide professional and dependable customer service while representing RSQ in the field.
- Continue developing knowledge of fire protection systems, codes, and industry requirements.

What It Takes
- Previous fire protection inspection, service, or related field experience.
- NICET Level III certification is preferred.
- Knowledge of fire protection systems, inspection procedures, and applicable codes.
- Ability to read and understand system drawings, inspection requirements, and technical information.
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel locally to customer sites throughout the Champaign area.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of a field-based position, including walking job sites, climbing ladders, and accessing system components.
