The Lazy Daisy Diner & Cafe is a new neighborhood cafe and diner opening soon in Urbana, Illinois, and we are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Dishwasher to join our team in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Dishwasher, you will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen, ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized. This position is vital for supporting our food service operations, contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Duties

• Operate dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans efficiently.
• Ensure that all kitchen areas are kept clean and organized by regularly cleaning countertops, floors, and food preparation areas.
• Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including bussing tables and helping with basic food handling duties.
• Maintain a steady workflow by managing the dishwashing station during peak service hours.
• Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure proper food handling and sanitation practices are upheld.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to support overall kitchen operations and ensure timely service delivery.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen environment is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with food handling practices and sanitation standards is a plus.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with other kitchen staff.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds as necessary.
• A positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed in the kitchen are essential for success in this role.
