ICU RN Job Details

• Location: Peoria, IL 61605 (Illinois travel nursing job)
• Healthcare Setting: Intensive Care Unit (ICU), High Acuity
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nurse Contract
• Start Date: September 8, 2025
• End Date: December 8, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2130 - $2190

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification (required before start)
• ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience
• High School Diploma or GED required; BSN preferred
• Ability to float to Med Surg units as needed
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and Microsoft Office applications preferred
• Must pass drug screening and background check

ICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill patients in the ICU
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare team members for optimal patient outcomes
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
• Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and families
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in electronic medical records
• Mentor and support fellow nurses; assist in onboarding new staff
• Promote evidence-based nursing practices and uphold professional standards
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Ensure a safe, clean, and compliant work environment
• Advocate for patients and caregivers to deliver value-driven, effective nursing care
