The Villa Park Police Department is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Full-Time Desk Receptionist - Clerk. Applicants interested in this position can submit their cover letter and resume to Deputy Chief Todd Kubish - [email protected] by April 30, 2024.

The Desk Receptionist is a non-sworn position assigned to the police department front desk. The receptionist shall perform a variety of clerical tasks and serve as the first line of contact between the public and the police department. Reception personnel shall be capable of utilizing a variety of office equipment and have an excellent understanding of computer operations and email programs.

P rimary Duties Include:

• Receptionist to the general public at the front desk, screening complaints and initiating minor reports, answering and routing incoming telecommunications
• Operation of the police radio system to relay information to officers and dispatchers
• Handling and processing of monies related to fines, bonds, parking fees, etc.
• Imputing and extracting information from the Law Enforcement Agencies Data System (LEADS) upon request.
• Monitoring of prisoners and surveillance cameras
• Providing assistance to officers and other miscellaneous duties

C a n didate Requirements:

• Be detail oriented with multi-tasking capabilities in a fast-paced environment
• Have excellent customer service skills, including the ability to deal tactfully with the public
• Have a high level of integrity in dealing with confidential and sensitive information is essential
• Must be 18 and be a high school graduate or equivalent
• Possess a valid Illinois Driver's License
• Must pass a criminal background check
• Experience is preferred but not required
