Receptionist/General Office Support Part-time Hourly In-Person Employee

Position Description:

This is a part-time in-person position, Monday – Friday 1-5:30pm. Pay scale is $17-$19 per hour based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

We seek a team player who is comfortable adapting to our ever-changing needs and willing to take on new challenges. Required skills – Ability to answers phones, greet visitors in a welcoming way, has good communication skills, and pays attention to details.

Core Responsibilities:

· Greet and assist members, prospective members and guests

· Professionally answer phone calls

· Support of the daily operations of the synagogue. This includes a wide range of tasks such as managing office supplies and equipment, processing mail, and using the database to track membership.

· Ability to work with and support our congregants, volunteers, teachers, staff and students with various office tasks.

Skills, Experience, and Knowledge Needed to Perform Job

· Power user of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook and Google Drive.

· Experience using a variety of data bases and the ability to learn new systems.

· Initiative, sound judgment, and ability to respond resourcefully in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

· Attention to the accuracy and visual presentation of printed and electronic documents.

· Ability to interact and effectively communicate and take detailed messages if needed.

· Maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications:

· 2-3 years of office experience.

· Comfortable working with volunteers, teachers, students and guests.
