Schedule/Hours:
- Flexible scheduling includes day (0700-1900, 1100-2300), evening (1500-0300), and night (1900-0700) shifts
- Weekend and holiday rotations as needed
- Four-week advance schedules with two weeks’ notice
- No on-call requirements; free on-site parking
Qualifications:
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience (community or acute care)
- BLS, ACLS, PALS (American Heart Association) certifications required; NIH Stroke Scale required, TNCC preferred
- Proficiency with EMR systems (EPIC preferred)
- Ability to think critically, multitask, and prioritize in a high-acuity setting
- Strong communication, adaptability, and team collaboration skills
- High reliability and punctuality; professional presence in evolving situations
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality care to a diverse patient mix, including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, sepsis, and pediatric cases
- Perform advanced ED skills: IV insertion, cardiac monitoring, foley/NGT management, post-arrest ventilator care, medication titration
- Accurately document and communicate in a rapid-paced setting
- Uphold departmental policies, patient safety, and standards of care
- Participate in streamlined orientation and continuous education sessions
