Job Description

The Purchasing Analyst is primarily responsible for managing all aspects of procurement for products, components, and supplies.

Essential Skills

• Strong negotiation skills and analytical abilities.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP

• Knowledge of purchasing processes, sourcing strategies, contract basics, and supply chain fundamentals.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and build effective relationships with suppliers and internal departments.

• Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 2-4+ years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or a related role.

• A degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain vendor relationships, evaluating bids and price changes, negotiating contracts and terms, issuing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies.

• Analyze spend data, purchase history, market trends, and supplier pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities, potential risks, and areas for process improvement.

• Conduct market research and supplier evaluations to assess capabilities, pricing competitiveness, quality, reliability, and compliance with organizational standards.

• Support contract negotiations by preparing data analysis, cost comparisons, and recommendations for favorable terms, pricing, and service levels.

• Monitor inventory levels, purchase orders, and supplier delivery performance; track key metrics such as on-time delivery, cost variance, and supplier performance.

• Perform regular audits of purchasing processes, vendor relationships, and transactional data to identify inefficiencies or non-compliance issues.

• Track and report on procurement KPIs, savings achieved, spend analysis, and compliance; prepare periodic reports for management review.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives in purchasing processes and automation.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lake in the Hills, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $38.00/hr.
