We’re hiring a Production Mail Insert Lead to join our Downers Grove, IL production facility. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in direct mail, print/mail inserting operations, or USPS mail prep who is looking to grow in a hands-on leadership role.

As Shift Lead, you’ll support and guide Mail Insert Operators, perform quality control and setup checks, and act as the first point of contact for production questions and equipment issues. Your attention to detail and ability to keep the team running smoothly will be essential to ensuring daily SLAs are met and quality standards are upheld.

What You’ll Do

• Perform setup sign-offs and material checks before job launch
• Lead, assign, and coordinate operator workloads based on priorities and staffing
• Conduct periodic audits to ensure accuracy, compliance, and SLA adherence
• Communicate with USPS reps and internal teams to resolve production/file issues
• Monitor machine performance and operator progress; escalate issues as needed
• Support and train insert operators on equipment (Pitney Bowes, Bell & Howell)
• Assist in handling spoiled postage jobs, reruns, and other special mail projects
• Track and report TruCheck alerts, double completions, late jobs, etc.
• Maintain accurate production records and ensure quality controls are followed
• Communicate shift updates clearly to supervisors and management

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in a direct mail, print production, or inserting environment
• Knowledge of USPS mail requirements and postal compliance standards
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to lift 40–45 lbs and stand for long periods
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and production systems
• Reliable, detail-focused, and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Must be flexible with shift times and available for overtime as needed
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must pass drug screen, background check, and E-Verify
