Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Chicago, IL 60612 (Illinois healthcare jobs)
• Facility Setting: Operating Room (OR)
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (locum tenens)
• Start Date: September 15, 2025
• End Date: December 15, 2025
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (21:00 - 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2020 - $2070
• Patient Population: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room RN experience
• BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Fingerprinting required prior to start (per Illinois nursing regulations)

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver expert perioperative nursing care for a variety of surgical procedures, including orthopedic, cardiovascular, neurological, and general surgeries
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Monitor and assess patients before, during, and after surgery, responding promptly to changes in condition
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Epic EHR
• Uphold strict infection control and patient safety protocols
• Educate patients and families on surgical procedures, recovery, and post-operative care
