ICU Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Chicago, IL 60612 (Illinois nursing jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Facility Setting: Level 1 Trauma Center
• Start Date: September 2, 2025
• End Date: December 2, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shifts: 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), every other weekend required
• Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1910–$1960
• Floating: Required between ICU specialties (Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, Neuro ICU) and Med-Surg units
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue
• Charting System: Cerner EMR
• Parking: $2/day at JTDC with shuttle service

ICU RN Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care ICU nursing experience
• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (must be in hand at submission)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemption for flu only)
• Ability to float between multiple ICU specialties and Med-Surg units
• Proficient in arterial line management, ventilator management, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and advanced critical care procedures
• Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to critically ill patients in various ICU settings
• Manage ventilated patients and titrate IV drips according to protocols
• Interpret ABGs and dysrhythmias, manage multi-system organ failure, and provide advanced life support
• Float between ICU units and Med-Surg units as needed to support hospital staffing
• Accurately document patient care using Cerner electronic medical records (EMR)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control and isolation precautions
