Stand Up Forklift Operator

**Job Title: Forklift Operator** **Job Description** As a Forklift Operator, you will utilize a sit-down forklift to move products through the manufacturing facility. Your role will involve counterbalancing products, using an RF scanner, unloading products into the cooler, and utilizing a reach truck to load products up to three racks high. You will also load and unload trucks in the bay area and manage racking systems. **Responsibilities** + Operate sit-down forklifts to move products through the facility. + Counterbalance products effectively. + Utilize RF scanners for inventory management. + Unload products into the cooler and ensure proper storage. + Use a reach truck to load products up to three racks high. + Load and unload trucks in the bay area. + Perform basic computer functions and use email for communication. + Pick orders using a scanner as per the pick sheet. + Maintain cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, and picking up debris. + Comfortably work in a cooler environment (26-28 degrees). + Handle raw meat products with care. **Essential Skills** + Experience with sit-down forklifts and reach trucks. + Proficiency in using RF scanners. + Material handling and packing skills. + Experience in foods manufacturing and cold storage environments. + Ability to pass both written and physical forklift exams. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with pallet jacks. + Counterbalance experience. + Familiarity with GMP guidelines. **Why Work Here?** This position is within a union environment, providing employees with the opportunity to join the union after the probationary period. Employees are required to adhere to strict guidelines, including no nail polish, jewelry, piercings, fake nails, embellishments, fur, or loose items. Hair must be tied back, and beard nets are required. Jackets and boots are provided, and employees will work around raw and cooked meat and poultry, with training on GMP guidelines. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Holland, IL. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $20.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
