Maintenance Technician

A well-established food manufacturing company in Gurnee, IL is seeking a skilled 2nd shift Maintenance Technician to support daily operations by maintaining and repairing production equipment and facility systems. This position requires hands-on experience with production machinery, preventive maintenance, and a solid understanding of lockout/tagout procedures in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Requirements of the Maintenance Technician

• 5+ years of maintenance experience in a food manufacturing or similar production environment

• Strong knowledge of lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and safe work practices

• Proficiency with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting of production machinery

• Ability to interpret technical documents such as blueprints, schematics, and manuals

• Familiarity with conveyor systems, motors, gearboxes, and industrial equipment

• Flexibility to work overtime or different shifts as needed

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance (PM) on production machines, conveyor systems, and facility equipment

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime

• Read and interpret diagrams, schematics, manuals, and manufacturer instructions to carry out maintenance and repairs

• Use precision measuring tools and testing instruments to diagnose and resolve machine malfunctions

• Follow proper lockout/tagout procedures to ensure a safe work environment during maintenance activities

• Inspect machinery and equipment to identify potential issues and perform corrective actions

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with safety standards and food manufacturing regulations

• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage

• Collaborate with production and operations teams to ensure smooth workflow and minimal disruptions

2nd shift: 4:00PM - 2:45AM Monday through Thursday *DIRECT HIRE*

Pay is $33.00 - $36.00 an hour, based on experience
