• Healthcare Setting: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Employment Type: Locum tenens, travel nursing contract
• Start Date: September 15, 2025
• End Date: December 15, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 – 07:15), 3 shifts/week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1710-$1750
• Patient Ratio: 1:2 (occasionally 1:3)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Required as needed
• Charting System: Epic

ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (required for Illinois nursing jobs)
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Ability to pass EKG strip test at orientation
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Willingness to float to other hospital units
• Two professional references (one from a direct supervisor/manager)
• Maximum of 7 days requested time off during contract

ICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to critically ill adult and geriatric patients
• Monitor and manage patients with complex neurological and cardiac conditions
• Perform arterial line management, ventilator care, and central line management
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias; titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Utilize advanced ICU equipment: intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), pulmonary artery catheters, arterial lines
• Respond to rapid response and Code 33 teams
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members (physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy)
• Document patient care accurately using Epic charting system
• Float to other units as required to support hospital patient care needs
