Auto Donations
: The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for Auto Donations. Job Summary Oversees the overall management, operation, and maintenance of the Auto Donations Office. Provides guidance and responds to questions from donors or potential donors relating to the process of donating cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, campers, and recreational vehicles to The Salvation Army. Receives, investigates, and submits vehicle insurance claims involving Salvation Army vehicle accidents and property to Chesterfield for processing. Ensures that all donations are properly categorized, entered into the system and all paperwork is completed accurately, timely and within established policies and procedures; maintains all documentation in accordance with established policies and procedures of the disposition of all assets in the Vehicle Donation office. Arranges for all donated assets to be picked up for processing. Sorts and files, pickup orders, sales invoices, copies of titles, and receipts, as records are generated and processed in accordance with established policies and procedures. Oversees the response to letters from private, state, county and local agencies regarding traffic tickets, impoundment, and other inquiries regarding donated vehicles. Maintains and secures the orderly and long-term maintenance of the vehicle donation files; ensures that only individuals in a need to know position have access to the files. Acts as liaison with auction companies and tow companies regarding the various donated assets. Coordinates sales, invoicing, and titles of donated vehicles. Inspects and oversees, and or determines, the fair market value of the donated assets. Accepts or reject the auction prices, in accordance with the previously determined fair market value of the asset. Prepares and maintains asset inventory by stock number. Prepares titles and other documents for the release of the assets for auction. Works with private, local, county, and/or state agencies to clear title problems of the donated assets. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to successfully work with a variety of individuals and personalities. Knowledge of vehicle donations. Knowledge of media design and presentation. Knowledge of information technology. Knowledge of general office practices and procedures. Ability to write grammatically correct and easily understandable reports. Ability to read and comprehend manuals and written instructions. Education and Experience High school diploma or G.E.D. and four years of work experience or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Licenses and Certifications None. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to type and keypunch information into a computer. Ability to sort and file documents alphabetically and numerically. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to operate general office equipment including a telephone, typewriter, computer, fax machine, copier, video projector, etc. Limited physical effort required associated with sitting, walking, standing, lifting, bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, and light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 15-35% of work time. Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
