Cook/Porter (part-time/seasonal)
We are looking for a part-time/seasonal, creative, detail-oriented cook/porter who takes great pride in putting forth good looking and consistent plates to join The Lunchroom. This person will also do prep work. This is an afternoon / evening position with hours from 4:30 until 8:30-9PM. We offer a small team where all members’ contributions are valued.
The Lunchroom sits inside SPACE 519, recently featured in The New York Times , one of Chicago’s top fashion and lifestyle destinations. Located in the recently renovated historic Plaza del Lago shopping center in Wilmette, SPACE 519 is a small department store featuring The Lunchroom, a 40-seat breakfast, lunch and weekend brunch restaurant with an all-day café. The Lunchroom is winner of “OpenTable Diner’s Choice’, Chicago Magazine’s ‘Hot List’, and Modern Luxury ‘Brunch Buzz.
Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years relevant kitchen experience, excellent communications skills and strong attention to detail. Bilingual language (English | Spanish) skills are helpful, but not required. Working in an open kitchen environment requires our Culinary Team to be professional in appearance and polished to deliver exceptional output to the store’s upscale clientele.
