Our client, who is a growing manufacturing organization in Alsip, IL is looking for a detail-oriented Inventory Accountant who’s ready to take on new challenges and grow alongside a collaborative finance and operations team.

Inventory Accountant – What You’ll Do

• Handle full-cycle accounting: accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, journal entries, and account reconciliations

• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes

• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis tied to manufacturing operations

• Track inventory, COGS, and production expenses

• Perform job cost accounting (labor, material, and overhead)

• Review and reconcile work-in-progress (WIP) and finished goods inventory

• Ensure accurate allocation of manufacturing overhead and production costs

• Assist with internal and external audits

• Partner with operations and production teams to provide financial insights for process improvement and cost savings

Inventory Accountant – What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)

• 2+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment (required)

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles

• Experience with job costing, inventory accounting, and production reporting

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities

Inventory Accountant – Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Sage 100 or other ERP systems used in manufacturing

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
