Drives gasoline or diesel powered tractor trailer combination to transport and deliver products, loose, or packaged form by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Drives truck to destination.
• Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition.
• Assists workers in loading and unloading truck.
• Clean truck and tractor trailer as needed
• Obtains receipts for load picked up.
• Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations.
• Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
• Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
• Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugs.
• Positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit.
• Maintains clean area where trucks are stored
• Must maintain mileage log and gas receipt log

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School or GED

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Basic Math
REASONING ABILITY General
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must have Fork Lift Licenses from Mechanical Devices Company and CDL
