Overview: The Nursing Assistant assists professional nursing personnel in providing patient care. The nursing assistant, under supervision, performs various routine duties to assist nurses in the treatment and care of patients and general operations of the nursing unit. He/she will carry out their responsibilities according to established standards and practices and philosophy of Carle Richland Memorial Hospital (CRMH). Responsibilities: Answer lights and telephone with good guest relations manner. Pass trays and ice. Transport patients to other units/departments. Change ice bags. Maintain clean linens on patients’ bed and person. Keep patient’s rooms clean and neat by dispose of linens and trash in the appropriate manner. Assist in preparing body after death. Assists with admissions, transfers, and discharge process ensuring rooms are set up for admits and postop surgical patients. Obtains intake and output and documents in the patient record. Assist the patient in turning or repositioning in bed. Assist patients to the bathroom or to use the bedpan/commode with call light within reach. Performs in a competent manner Foley catheter care. Document all care given in a factual manner into the patient record. Collect and transport specimens to lab. Performs bedside reporting/off going report to oncoming staff at shift change. In collaboration with other staff members, utilizes rounding process. Qualifications: Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)American Heart Association (AHA), Education: H.S. Diploma/GED (Required), Work Experience: Relevant medical military training; Completion of CNA coursework within past 24 months; Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA); At least one semester of nursing clinical experience; Certified Medical Assistant at Carle Health; Worked as CNA within past 24 months; Successful completion of Carle's HCT In Training Program Carle Health Company Overview:

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is $17.89per hour - $28.98per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
