Finance Assistant

What You’ll Do

As our Finance Assistant, you’ll be the go-to resource for staff with finance needs—making sure purchases are processed, payments are accurate, and funds are balanced. No two days will be exactly the same: you might be processing cash receipts one moment, reconciling credit card accounts the next, and helping a colleague troubleshoot a vendor order right after that. Your role is key to ensuring smooth operations across the library system.

Key Responsibilities

• Process purchase orders, invoices, and payments with accuracy and efficiency


• Receive, distribute, and troubleshoot supply orders with staff and vendors


• Handle daily cash receipts and maintain petty cash reimbursements


• Reconcile monthly credit card statements and track usage


• Maintain asset listings and assist with accounts payable transactions


• Provide excellent customer service to staff across departments

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma required; some accounting or office experience (1–3 years) preferred


• Strong attention to detail and accuracy


• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook (experience with financial software is a plus)


• A service-oriented mindset with strong communication skills


• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and across departments


• Commitment to confidentiality, inclusion, and collaboration

Hours and Scheduling: Full-time, 37.5 hours/week. Monday - Friday day shift.
