Legal Counsel
Help Shape the Future of Insurance—From a Legal and Regulatory Frontline
We’re looking for a strategic, forward-thinking Legal Counsel to join our North America team and play a key role in supporting a complex, fast-moving (re)insurance business.
This is a high-impact role at the intersection of regulation, governance, and business strategy—ideal for a lawyer who thrives in a dynamic environment and is energized by working closely with senior leaders, regulators, and cross-functional teams.
You will help drive proactive regulatory reporting, strong governance practices, and business-enabling legal solutions across a diversified insurance platform. If you’re looking to combine technical excellence, regulatory insight, and real business impact, we’d love to hear from you.

- Partner with Compliance, Risk, Finance, and business leaders to deliver clear, accurate, and timely regulatory submissions
- Anticipate regulatory developments and translate them into practical guidance and action plans
- Support interactions with regulators, including preparing materials for examinations, inquiries, and meetings

Be a Trusted Business Partner
- Serve as a go-to legal advisor for underwriting, claims, and operations teams, in particular for Swiss Re's Corporate Solutions Property & Specialty book across the United States
- Provide practical, solution-oriented guidance on insurance regulatory matters, in particular in relation to Property & Specialty
- Support innovative and complex insurance transactions, including bespoke and structured deals
- Collaborate on strategic initiatives, including in relation to Swiss Re's international programs and new business opportunities
Work Across a Global, Collaborative Network
- Partner with colleagues across Legal, Compliance, Risk, Finance, and Actuarial
- Contribute to cross-functional projects that shape how we operate and grow
- Engage with global teams on matters with broader business or regulatory impact
