Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Location: Chicago, ILPosition Type: Full-time, Contract (CSY)

This opportunity is for a full-time Special Education Teacher to support an elementary self-contained classroom serving students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The role involves managing a caseload of 6-8 students, primarily on the autism spectrum. You will work closely with two dedicated paraprofessionals to provide tailored instruction and support to meet each student's unique needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students within a self-contained K-5 setting
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals and other educational team members to deliver specialized instruction
• Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to ensure optimal educational outes
• Maintain pliance with state and district special education guidelines
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and growth

Qualifications:

• Active Illinois LBSI (Licensed Behavior Specialist I) certification required
• Experience working with students with autism and special education needs preferred
• Ability to effectively manage a small caseload and collaborate with paraprofessional staff
