Location: Rockford, IL
Type: Contract
Duration: 12 Weeks
Shift & Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate : $24/hr
Position Overview:
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking Medical Assistant for an exciting Travel or Local job in Rockford, IL.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and room patients in a professional and friendly manner
- Schedule appointments and manage patient communications
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls
- Record patient vitals and medical information accurately
- Perform phlebotomy/venipuncture and assist with lab procedures
- Administer vaccines and provide clinical support as needed
- Perform Point of Care Testing as required
- Assist with EKG testing when needed
- Maintain accurate documentation in EMR systems (preferably Athena EMR)
- Support daily clinic operations and collaborate with healthcare staff
- Collect patient fees and assist with front desk support duties
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (excluding externship)
- Medical Assistant Certification preferred
- Phlebotomy/venipuncture and EMR experience required
- Recent experience with rooming patients, vitals, and scheduling required
- Occupational Health experience strongly preferred
- EKG testing experience preferred
- Point of Care Testing experience preferred
- BLS/CPR certification preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills
- High attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment
