Bartender
We are seeking a polished, high-energy, and deeply knowledgeable Bartender to anchor our luxury steakhouse bar and lounge. In an upscale steakhouse, the bar is a primary destination. You aren't just pouring drinks; you are hosting a high-end social space where corporate executives, regulars, and celebratory diners gather for premium experiences.
The ideal candidate is a master of classic cocktail chemistry, commands an encyclopedic knowledge of spirits (particularly premium whiskeys, scotches, and bourbons), and can seamlessly execute flawless wine-by-the-glass service. You must possess the speed to handle a high-volume ticket well for the dining room while maintaining engaging, personalized conversation with guests sitting at your bar rail.
Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Reports To: Bar Manager / Front of House Managers
Core ResponsibilitiesLuxury Cocktail Execution: Craft artisanal, balanced cocktails using fresh juices, house-made syrups, and premium spirits. Maintain perfect consistency and speed, ensuring every classic Martini, Old Fashioned, and Manhattan meets our exact brand standards.
The Lounge Experience: Act as a primary host for the bar and lounge area. Greet guests instantly, guide them through both our beverage and full dinner menus, take detailed food orders, and deliver seamless fine-dining steps of service at the bar rail.
Service Well Management: Rapidly and accurately prepare beverage orders sent through the POS system by floor servers, ensuring the dining room ticket well never backs up during peak dinner rushes.
Spirit & Wine Ambassadorship: Confidently speak to our extensive spirits collection, allocation lists, and wine-by-the-glass program. Make expert recommendations, upsell premium spirit variations, and suggest tailored food-and-beverage pairings.
Bar Operations & Sanitation: Set up, break down, and deep-clean the bar daily. Maintain meticulous organization of glassware, ice, garnishes, and inventory. Adhere strictly to liquor liability laws, checking identification and monitoring guest consumption responsibly.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of bartending experience in a high-volume, upscale casual, or fine-dining restaurant. Experience in a premier steakhouse environment is a significant advantage.
Product Knowledge: Deep foundational knowledge of classic mixology, cocktail history, global wine varietals, and premium spirit classifications (specifically scotch, bourbon, and tequila).
The "Double-Threat" Skillset: Exceptional multitasking skills—the ability to maintain a clean, organized service well while simultaneously engaging warmly with bar guests.
Professional Presentation: A sophisticated, well-groomed appearance and articulate communication style that matches a luxury dining environment.
Certifications: Active local alcohol service certification (e.g., TIPS/ServSafe) and food handler’s card are mandatory.
