Accounting Manager
A leading financial services organization has partnered with LaSalle Network to identify an Accounting Manager for their corporate segment accounting team. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Accounting, this leader will manage core ledger activities and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant accounting across all accounting functions.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone who can own the close, strengthen controls, elevate process efficiency, and partner cross-functionally with external auditors, treasury, tax, and technical accounting teams to deliver clear financial insights.
Compensation: $120,000-150,000 base salary (commensurate with experience)
Work model: Hybrid 2 days/week in the office
Location: Chicago, IL
What you’ll do
Execute timely and accurate recording and reporting of the General Ledger and provide monthly analysis to business partners
Own the month-end close for core accounting functions, including lease accounting, litigation reserves, equity compensation and shares for EPS, investments, debt, hedging, and cash transactions (GAAP + public company compliance)
Prepare complex account reconciliations, perform balance sheet analysis, and develop schedules and insights for SEC reporting
Review and document accounting positions; establish, modify, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and control procedures and efficiencies
Assist in the research and documentation of accounting positions for certain matters and coordinate audit requests for external and internal auditors
Analyze and report monthly results; partner with FP&A to forecast complex accounting areas including complex modeling and “what-if” analysis
Drive continuous improvement in processes, systems, and internal controls to enhance the control environment
Review the work of less experienced personnel and provide mentoring and guidance
What we’re looking for
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
CPA required
5-7 years of experience transitioning from public accounting to corporate accounting (preferred)
Large public company experience (required)
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and public company reporting requirements
Strong analytical and modeling skills
Proven process improvement experience within accounting/finance
Strong Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting software
Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize work, and perform independently
Strong communication skills and a business-partner mindset
