Technical Denials Specialist
- Review, research, and resolve complex insurance claim denials
- Prepare and submit first- and second-level appeals with supporting documentation
- Analyze denial root causes and identify reimbursement trends
- Work payer correspondence, appeals, reconsiderations, and follow-up activities
- Utilize EPIC and other billing systems to manage denial workqueues and account documentation
- Collaborate with billing, coding, and revenue cycle teams to resolve claim issues
- Ensure compliance with payer guidelines, billing regulations, and hospital policies
- Maintain productivity and quality standards in a high-volume environment
- Support process improvement initiatives aimed at reducing future denials
- 2+ years of medical billing and denial management experience
- Experience handling first- and second-level appeals required
- Strong understanding of healthcare revenue cycle operations and insurance claims processing
- EPIC billing experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers
- Ability to research and resolve technical denials independently
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Location: Skokie, IL (Hybrid)
- Schedule: 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm | Monday–Friday
- Pay: $25-28/hour
