The Principal Electrical Engineer provides enterprise-level technical leadership across multi-office teams, elevating project quality, schedule adherence, and delivery consistency for electric and gas distribution, substation, and facilities programs. This role supports high‑performing project teams, drives continuous improvement with clients and internal stakeholders, and establishes training and change‑management frameworks that scale across the organization.

- Review and stamp plans for electric distribution, natural gas projects, compressor stations, and substation projects.
- Conduct continual improvement initiatives in response to client feedback and internal opportunities, strengthening client relationships.
- Create and administer change‑management systems for organizational, equipment, and process changes.
- Oversee and review designs for compliance with client and industry standards (NESC, NEC, IEEE/IEC).
- Serve as a key technical resource and decision‑maker on engineering problems, methods, and standards.
- This role typically reviews Gas Complex Projects from an Electrical perspective.
- Attends client meetings as a Subject Matter Expert as needed, and is focused on the projects, not managing people.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (Power emphasis preferred).
- 8–12+ years of relevant utility/energy experience.
