Kelly Services is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic for our client in Romeoville, IL. This is a 2 nd shift position. Candidates must have excellent work history. Candidates must be able to work in a cold environment. **Must haves:** + 5+ years of maintenance experience in food, beverage, or manufacturing (USDA/FDA a plus). + Strong skills in 3-phase electrical systems, wiring, motors, and control panels. + Experience using hand/power tools and diagnostic equipment. + Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Hours: 2 nd Shift | Monday - Friday | 2:00pm - 10:30pm **Position Summary:** Keep production and packaging equipment running safely and efficiently. Diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Handle setup, changeovers, and quick fixes for conveyors, baggers, scales, and barcode systems. Read electrical schematics and perform basic PLC/VFD troubleshooting. Stay ahead of issues with preventive maintenance and regular inspections. Jump into action when equipment breaks down - keeping downtime to a minimum. Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant workspace that meets USDA and facility standards. **Required Qualifications:** 5+ years of maintenance experience in food, beverage, or manufacturing (USDA/FDA a plus). Strong skills in 3-phase electrical systems, wiring, motors, and control panels. Experience using hand/power tools and diagnostic equipment. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Team player who communicates clearly and responds quickly to issues.
