Staff Enterprise Application Engineer
Summary Edison Enterprise Ecosystems Engineering organization unit is looking for a Staff Enterprise Application Engineer, who will implement and manage scalable, reliable, enterprise grade CI/CD applications consumed by internal customers across GE HealthCare. Responsible for maintaining high availability, SLA with 24x7 operational support in a multi-region environment. Included in the focus areas is the critical evaluation and selection of latest Builder Tools and Technologies needed in SDLC. Design, deploy, and manage scalable and highly available DevOps tools in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) across on-premises and cloud environments.
Assist in the analysis, design, and development of a roadmap for the implementation of DevOps tools, considering current and future states.
Develop automated solutions and troubleshooting guides to remediate or mitigate Service Level Agreement(SLA) breaches.
Define effective monitoring thresholds for actionable alerts and implement rapid response procedures. Conduct post-incident reviews for prevention.
Design infrastructure solutions, balancing requirements, operational constraints, and architecture guidelines.
Research emerging technologies, trends, and methodologies. Enhance existing systems and processes accordingly.
Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, build, and deployment using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or similar.
Demonstrate a proven ability to understand performance issues in large-scale environments. Identify, debug, and propose viable solutions.
Implement and adhere to security guidelines, both policy and technical, to safeguard our customers.
Install software applications and troubleshoot issues on both Linux and Windows operating systems.
Exhibit strong expertise in AWS and/or Azure commonly used services. AWS and/or Azure certifications are considered an advantage.
Coach and mentor junior team members. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams for issue resolution and prevention.
Education Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
A minimum of 10 years of professional experience
A minimum of 5+ years of experience with CI/CD technologies
Desired Characteristics
Technical Expertise:
Experience with CI/CD tools like GitLab, Jenkins, SonarQube, Artifactory.
Good understanding of SDLC, Agile, and ITIL processes.
Strong knowledge of Java, Python, and REST API.
Expertise in scripting languages such as shell, groovy, python.
Experience with Infrastructure as code deployments using tools such as Ansible, Terraform.
Experience with log aggregation and monitoring tools like Splunk, CloudWatch, NewRelic, etc.
Good understanding of cloud services like load balancers, storage, security groups, virtual machines. AWS and/or Azure Certifications are an added advantage.
Strong knowledge in Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, SSH, DHCP).
Good experience with containerization technologies: Docker, Kubernetes.
Strong working experience with common operating systems: Linux, Windows.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good interpersonal and networking skills, highly articulate team player.
