Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and compassionate Intake Specialist to join our dedicated mental health team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in the intake process by gathering client information, managing paperwork, verifying insurance, and performing initial assessments. This position is essential for ensuring that our clients receive the care and support they need from the moment they walk through our doors.

Essential Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:
- Maintain clear and compassionate communication with clients, providing them with necessary information and support during the intake process
- Collect and record detailed information from new clients during the intake process
- Verify and document insurance information, take insurance cards, and handle related inquiries
- Conduct insurance searches to confirm coverage and benefits for services.
- Manage and organize all intake paperwork, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Conduct initial assessments to identify client needs and direct them to appropriate services and professionals
- Provide risk assessments to evaluate client needs and determine appropriate services
- Work closely with other staff members to ensure seamless and efficient intake experience for clients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all client interactions and intake processes
- Completion of all documentation and tracking promptly

Requirements:EDUCATION, SKILLS, and/or EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree in counseling and guidance, social work, vocational counseling, psychology, pastoral counseling, or family therapy.
- The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals in behavioral health settings by providing an individualized approach to support an individual’s wellness and recovery.
- Education/experience to be able to function as a Qualified mental health professional.
- An active and undisciplined LPC, LSW, LCPC, LCSW license in the State of Illinois is preferred; the ability to obtain licensure within two years of employment is required.
- Must have a valid DL, dependable transportation, and pass a background check.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of intake and assessment procedures- data collection, evaluation, documentation, and service planning
- Understanding of mental health disorders and treatments
- Familiarity with healthcare and mental health terminology
- Awareness of confidentiality and privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA)
- Understanding insurance processes and coverage
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and basic office software.
- Compassionate, empathetic, and patient-focused mindset.
