Our Swim Instructors direct and leads participant(s) through explanation, demonstration, and guided practice. This position is at our Lincoln Park location.

Responsibilities:

• Take attendance when needed.
• Schedule lessons three-five days in advance.
• Follow Emergency Action Plan when needed.
• Fill out required records and reports on schedule.
• Attend staff meetings alongside training workshops.
• Communicate regularly with participants and their parents.
• Report any unsafe conditions or equipment to the Aquatics Director.
• Complete additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Director.
• Adapt teaching approaches to all ages, skills, and abilities of participants.
• Use skill demonstrations and positive reinforcement while teaching new skills.
• Enforce all aquatics facility policies, rules, and regulations; educate patrons about them.
• Monitor teaching, practice, and equipment areas to ensure the health and safety of participants.
• Utilize “Instructor Training Guide” as well as Training Workshops to begin and enhance the swimming curriculum to our members.

Position Requirements:

• Previous instruction experience preferred.
• Must be punctual, reliable, energetic, and focused.
• American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.

Scheduling Needs:

• Weekdays from 4:00-7:00pm
• Weekends from 9:00am-11:00am
