Investment Funds Attorney

LHH is assisting a high-growth investment management and private funds firm founded by former AmLaw partners is expanding its funds group and seeking a senior attorney to join in a leadership capacity.

This role is designed for a seasoned private funds attorney who can lead and manage full fundraises independently , work directly with sophisticated sponsors, and collaborate closely with an established group of funds partners as the practice continues to scale.

The Opportunity

• Lead sponsor-side fundraises from formation through close
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients
• Take meaningful responsibility off senior partners’ plates
• Work across a broad funds platform, including:
• Venture and private equity (closed-end funds)
• Credit funds
• Infrastructure and real estate funds
• Hedge and open-ended funds
• Collegial, collaborative environment with a strong leadership team
• Portable business is a plus, but not required

Ideal Candidate

• 7+ years of experience in private funds and/or investment management
• Senior Associate, Counsel, or Partner level
• Strong technical skillset and ability to lead matters independently
• Top academic credentials and BigLaw training required
• Applicants may reside anywhere; Chicago preferred
• Illinois bar or bar of residence if remote

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary range: $300,000–$400,000
• Bonus awarded on top of base compensation
• Billable expectations set on a case-by-case basis, generally below traditional BigLaw norms
