Adjunct Faculty: Industrial Maintenance

We seek applicants for part-time instructors to teach daytime or evening Industrial Maintenance courses during future semesters through HCC’s Career and Technical Education division. Courses offered in this area include Industrial & Building Electricity, Mechanical Systems, Electrical Wiring and Maintenance, Fluid Power and Mechanical Systems, Mechatronics, Programmable Controllers, and Robotic Systems.


In addition to teaching, general expectations include:

• Evaluate student learning outcomes within established protocols
• Prepare syllabi for courses taught consistent with established approvals
• Manage student issues and problems in a manner consistent with the Student Handbook
• Create a learning environment that fosters student success and the attainment of defined learning outcomes on the master syllabus
• Demonstrate competence and remain current in the discipline
• Use major IT systems necessary for performance of basic job duties including email, grade and required attendance submissions, and learning management systems
• Cooperate with Student Success and Enrollment Services staff in advocating for student persistence and completion
• Maintain reasonable accessibility to students
• Cooperate with College-wide and division instructional goals

Requirements

• Minimum of 2,000 hours of demonstrated experience in the industrial maintenance field
• Relevant industry certifications
• Daytime and/or evening on-campus availability

Desired Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree
• Successful teaching experience

THESE POSITIONS ARE BASED IN CENTRAL ILLINOIS AND ABILITY TO BE PRESENT ON-CAMPUS/IN-PERSON IS REQUIRED.


Adjunct faculty shall be compensated per Equated Contact Hour (ECH) of instruction. As of time of posting, the compensation rate per ECH for new Adjunct Faculty is $1,011.
