Salary Range: $110,000 - $150,000 per year
Variable Compensation: 6% annual company bonus

5. Position Summary
The P/C Senior Actuary plays a critical role in (Confidential Client)'s insurance operations, providing expert actuarial analysis and support for property and casualty insurance products. This position is responsible for analyzing complex data sets, developing rate adjustment proposals, establishing reserve estimates, and creating economic capital models. The Senior Actuary serves as a key resource for regulatory filings and actively contributes to the implementation of new rates and rating plans. This role requires a deep commitment to professional development, with candidates expected to pursue and maintain Casualty Actuarial Society designations while supporting various actuarial projects and committee initiatives.
6. Must-Haves
- Minimum 5+ years of Property/Casualty insurance experience
- Completed coursework for ACAS (Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society) credential or possess ACAS designation
- Commitment to pursuing FCAS (Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society) credential
- Active maintenance of appropriate Continuing Education credits to maintain actuarial credentials
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Experience with data analysis and statistical modeling
7. Primary Functions
- Research and analyze various types of data to produce accurate rate adjustment proposals and recommendations
- Develop and calculate reserve estimates for property and casualty insurance products
- Build and maintain economic capital models to support business strategy and risk management
- Provide actuarial support and documentation for regulatory filings with state insurance departments
- Implement new rates and rating plans, utilizing existing procedures and recommending process improvements where appropriate
- Analyze data and develop solutions for actuarial and product line management challenges
- Conduct research and analysis for special projects within defined scope
- Serve as the Property/Casualty Actuarial representative on assigned project committees
- Maintain professional actuarial credentials through ongoing education and examination preparation
8. Required Skills
- Advanced analytical and quantitative reasoning abilities
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and data modeling techniques
- Strong knowledge of actuarial principles and methodologies specific to property and casualty insurance
- Expertise in rate-making and pricing for insurance products
- Proficiency with actuarial software and statistical analysis tools
- Experience with regulatory compliance and state insurance department filing requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex actuarial findings
- Project management and cross-functional collaboration capabilities
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in data analysis
- Professional designation holder or actively pursuing Casualty Actuarial Society credentials
- Preferred: Prior experience with Auto and Home pricing; other property casualty experience considered
