Peoria, IL Nursing Job Details

• Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – LTAC Med Surg
• Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
• Healthcare Setting: Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) Med Surg Unit
• Location: Peoria, IL 61605 (Central Illinois healthcare jobs)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (36 hours/week)
• Salary Range: $36.23 - $53.02 per hour (based on RN experience)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2020 - $2300
• Shift Differentials: 3rd shift: +$4.00/hour; Weekend: +$3.25/hour
• Sign-On Bonus: $15,000 for new graduate nurses; $20,000 for RNs with 1+ years of experience
• Start Date: September 15, 2025

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited BSN, ADN, or Nursing Diploma program
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois or eligibility to obtain
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association preferred)
• ACLS certification preferred
• 1+ year of experience in a medical/surgical acute care or LTAC setting preferred (new grads welcome to apply)
• Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer proficiency and electronic health record (EHR) experience
• Ability to prioritize and collaborate in a fast-paced healthcare environment

RN Responsibilities – LTAC Med Surg

• Deliver direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation)
• Develop and update individualized nursing care plans with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Accurately document assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record
• Administer medications and perform technical nursing procedures within scope of practice
• Supervise and delegate tasks to nursing team members based on patient needs and staff qualifications
• Communicate changes in patient condition to physicians and healthcare team members
• Participate in discharge planning and provide patient/family education
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and standards of nursing care
• Promote a compassionate, respectful, and safe environment for patients and their families
