Senior Logistics Coordinator
A Senior Logistics Coordinator is needed for the world's largest food and beverage company in the Dekalb, IL area. This role requires an experienced logistics professional to manage transportation load planning, carrier selection, and shipment tracking while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure optimized freight orders and on-time delivery. location: Dekalb, Illinois

Operational Responsibilities:
- Execute product transportation efficiently using available tools to surpass service expectations.
- Collaborate with customer service, carriers, facilities, and deployment teams.
- Maintain a professional demeanor in all forms of communication including in-person, phone, and email.
- Demonstrate initiative and make informed decisions independently regarding customer needs and carrier capacity.
- Escalate issues to management as necessary.
- Support the Operational Master Plan and Continuous Excellence Initiatives.
- Participate in Continuous Process Improvement efforts.
- Resolve conflicts and discrepancies in a positive and timely manner.
- Manage planning anomalies and analyze non-routine problems to understand root issues.
- Conduct final validation of transportation plans and maintain accurate data.
- Establish connections between appointment times and transit durations.
- Create fully optimized freight orders.
- Perform initial carrier selection.
- Manage planning exceptions such as order changes, rush requests, and accessorial validation.
- Oversee day-to-day carrier management.
- Manage on-time pick-up and delivery schedules.
- Track shipments in transit and identify potential risks for mitigation.
- Maintain accurate date and appointment management.
- Handle service exceptions as they arise.
- Foster strong working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Communicate daily regarding operational successes and areas for improvement.
- Engage in continuous education regarding transportation and supply chain practices.
- Handle confidential information with appropriate discretion.
- Attend meetings and participate in assigned projects.
- Travel and undergo training aimed at maximizing value for the company.
