HR Specialist, Compliance
IHR Service Center Do you excel at managing details and upholding integrity in hiring processes? In this role, you will process background and sex-based misconduct checks, communicate with units and candidates, and address general email inquiries. This position supports HR-related compliance activities by supporting program implementation, responding to complex inquiries, and conducting compliance-related training. The incumbent ensures accurate records, consistent processes, and adherence to applicable laws and procedures. Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer HR-related compliance programs and policies.
- Review retiree rehire requests, ensuring required documents are submitted and requests adhere to policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Process all aspects of leave of absence and notice of nonreappointment requests.
- Support campus by processing background, sex-based misconduct, and motor vehicle record checks.
- Investigate background check results, preparing and presenting cases to the review committee that require additional review.
- Provide customer support and issue resolution for routine and complex inquiries.
- Communicate background-check related results to candidates and units.
- Conduct training and development programs on compliance-related topics.
- Assist with campuswide trainings about notice of nonreappointment processing.
- Develop and update standard operating procedures and job aids
- Ensures adherence to HR policies and legal requirements through tracking, training, and internal reviews. Identifies areas of concern related to adherence to HR policies and legal requirements.
- Prepare documents for appointments in need of Board of Trustees' approval.
- Audit and track campuswide compliance trainings.
- Support auditing efforts for SURS.
- Participate in committees and projects of defined scope.
High school diploma or equivalent.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Any one or any combination totaling three (3) years (36 months) from the following categories:
- Course work in human resource administration, business administration or a closely related field, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
- Associate's Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
- 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
- Bachelor's Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
- Progressively more responsible work experience maintaining, monitoring, and/or processing human resource records and reports.
- Course work in human resource administration, business administration or a closely related field, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
