Objective:
Branch Managers are directly responsible for the staffing, culture, and overall performance of the branch, including but not limited to building customer loyalty. This position's daily activities center around 2 primary areas of focus: developing business and developing retail personnel.
Essential Duties:
- Staff all retail functions within the branch with an efficient level of personnel while maintaining our customer service standard.
- Ensure proper training, cross training, coaching, counseling, feedback, recognition, and leadership are provided to retail staff.
- Provide leadership, direction, and coaching to build loyalty and capacity of the branch staff to ensure that all business development and customer experience efforts are successful.
- Manage retail staff performance and ensuring individual and branch goals are met.
- Educate staff about organizational changes and assist them in learning.
- Demonstrate the ability to independently make and communicate sound decisions based upon Bank policies, knowledge, and experience.
- Collaborate with the Operations Team when resolving issues, building new policies, etc.
- Collaborate with Marketing to ensure successful sales campaigns and coordination of Dieterich Bank-sponsored events.
- Conduct regular team meetings to ensure communication and ideas are flowing.
- Promote the optimum Customer Experience. Also, provide exceptional customer care in an expedient manner that satisfies individual needs of each customer and builds loyalty to Dieterich Bank.
- Ensure that merchandising displays are properly placed in the office/branch.
- Maintain a well-developed working knowledge of the complete line of products and services offered by the Bank throughout the branch and taking responsibility to stay up to date on these.
- Partner with the VP of Retail Banking & Training to ensure all branch efforts are aligned with the strategic direction of Dieterich Bank.
- Verify compliance and minimizing risk for the branch. Also, maintain safety and security of branch.
- Conduct all performance reviews of retail staff that include individual development plans.
- Manage multiple tasks and responding to pressure and change with poise and confidence.
- Assist other branches as needed for staffing which may include travel.
- Attend Retail Management meetings as they are scheduled.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer and employee information.
Secondary Duties:
- Promote Dieterich Bank within the community
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Knowledge of banking procedures
- Make texture judgments in verifying the authenticity of currency
- Knowledge of the Bank's products and services
- Customer service oriented
- Ability to work well with others and in a team environment, and assist other departments as needed
- Must possess excellent communication skills. Consultative skills to identify a client's financial needs. In addition, must be able to communicate with customers well on a daily basis face-to-face or by telephone.
- Proofread and verify written materials. In addition, read and process written and numerical information
- Possess relationship management skills
- Maintain accuracy by remaining detail focused consistently, and have the ability to organize efficiently
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Must demonstrate ethical conduct
- Time management skills
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for supervising and managing all Retail Bankers at a specific branch location. This could be as few as 4 or as many as 10 employees depending on the location.
Work Schedule:
This position requires 40 hours each week with a various schedule based on the hours of the branch.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk (fluently in English) and hear. The employee is often required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands and arms to reach, handle, and feel. Up to 10 pounds may be lifted.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in management, business, or a related field or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of banking experience in a retail and consumer capacity
- 3+ year of successful leadership and management experience
Work Environment:
This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
