Are you looking for a broad and varied HR role that will challenge you to be a better HR professional?

The HR Specialist will provide generalist HR support to our Great Lakes team including employee onboarding, benefits and compensation administration, policy interpretation, employee file maintenance, HR communications, and more. The HR Specialist will regularly interact with all levels of employees in our offices, other North America HR teams, and the Regional and Global HR teams.

As a member of BCGs Human Resources team, we will lean on you to help us develop, deploy, and retain the best talent in the market. We will work together to manage the life cycle of our BCGers and the day-to-day operations of HR. In this role, you will have the opportunity to display your exceptional customer service, problem solving, and analytical skills!

Youre good at

  • Collaborating with the Great Lakes HR team to provide general support for local staff including contributing to onboarding, leave-of-absence management, off-boarding, and employee relations
  • Interpreting, implementing, and answering inquiries related to HR benefits, payroll, policies and procedures, while ensuring consistency and thoughtfully navigating grey areas
  • Creating and maintaining a variety of reports and audits for the local office HR function including attrition and turnover, people movements, form I-9 tracking, and others
  • Contributing to projects and process improvements for the Great Lakes HR team, as needed
  • Actively participating in the Great Lakes HR team and the broader HR community including regional/global initiatives and projects
  • Other duties, as assigned

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelors degree in business, HR or related field strongly preferred
  • 2-5 years of business experience, preferably at a high touch environment with professional staff
  • Familiarity with federal and state employment and labor laws
  • Computer proficiency in Windows, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Strong analytical abilities strongly preferred

Who You'll Work With

You will be working in the Chicago office as part of a dynamic Great Lakes (Chicago, Detroit, and Minneapolis) Human Resources team, comprised of an HR Director, HR Senior Manager, HR Manager, and two HR Senior Specialists. As a team, we support 700+ staff, providing on-the-ground support to a growing group of high performing Consultants and Business Services team members.

That's why we operate on a hybrid model, with the expectation that team members will be in the office 3 to 5 days per week. This role is designed for those who thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment and is not intended for remote or virtual work.

Compensation

Total compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, retirement contribution, and a market leading benefits package described below.

The base salary range for this role is $72,000-$89,000.

This is an estimated range and specific base salaries within the range depend on factors such as office location, experience, and skill set. It is not common for new BCG employees to be hired at the high-end of the salary range. BCG regularly reviews its ranges to ensure market competitiveness.

In addition to your base salary, your total compensation will include a discretionary bonus of up to 12% and a generous retirement contribution that starts at 5% and moves to 10% after 2 years.

  • Generous paid time off including 12 holidays per year, an annual office closure between Christmas and New Years, and 15 vacation days per year (earned at 1.25 days per month)
