The Equity is an independent ag cooperative headquartered in Effingham, Illinois and has over 500 employees. Our market area currently includes 22 locations and covers central Illinois and southwest Indiana. The Equity has five divisions including: Agronomy, Grain, Feed & Livestock, Energy, and two Retail Stores, plus a Precision Agronomy dealership as well as a cutting-edge drone sprayer business. The Equity’s mission is to deliver value to our customers through operational excellence, providing information, exploring opportunities, and supporting profitable roles for producers.

Reports to: Operations or Location Manager

Compensation: $19-$24/hour

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Leadership Characteristics:

· High School Diploma or GED. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture preferred

· Proficient with Microsoft Office applications

· Obtain and maintain a CDL and necessary endorsements

· Obtain a commercial pesticide license

· Demonstrates ability to interact effectively with management and customers

Key Responsibilities:

1. Follow all established personnel and safety policies and procedures

2. Responsible for daily maintenance, cleanliness, and compliance with state and federal regulations of equipment and facilities.

3. Blending, mixing, delivering, loading and unloading fertilizer, ag chemicals, seed and merchandise as directed.

4. Attend continuing education, training programs designed by Agronomy Corporate Trainer, and sales courses to maintain a quality level of knowledge for the products, regulations, and customer relations.

5. In the off-season, may be required to assist corporate shop personnel in repairing and maintaining fleet or operate the truck fleet as directed by the location manager.

6. Scout fields for weed and insect problems, take soil samples, and make field maps.

7. Communicate in a professional manner to the producer, salesmen and location manager.

Work Environment: The nature of the business requires extended hours. While performing the duties of the job, the employee regularly works outside near moving mechanical equipment.

Physical Demands: The physical demands include lifting objects up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, and the ability to talk and hear.

Travel: The employee may be required to travel to other facilities in The Equity trade area, conferences, educational opportunities, and other job-related activities.
