Tooling, CNC, and Plant Reliability Supervisor — Forging

A day in this role

You start by reviewing preventive maintenance schedules in the eMaint system and walking the floor—buildings and grounds, production bays, and support areas. You balance labor hours across the Die Room, CNC Room, and Maintenance, plan the day’s workload, and stage materials while keeping a close eye on spare parts and consumables inventory. You coordinate with vendors, schedule facility layout changes as needed, and make sure every assignment has clear ownership and timing.

Lead the Die Room

• Direct a skilled team building, calibrating, repairing, and maintaining machine-shop tools, jigs, fixtures, instruments, and dies.
• Jump in on high-skill work when needed—arranging, fitting, assembling parts—and partner with designers and engineers on development, including timing, precise fitting, adjustments, and tool construction.
• Ensure dies are developed, constructed, repaired, maintained, and calibrated to meet production goals.

Guide the CNC Room

• Oversee work on EDM sinkers and CNC equipment using precision tools, jigs, fixtures, instruments, and dies.
• Support engineering with trim-tool fitting, fixture construction, and adjustments.
• Deliver forge, trim, and coin tooling on schedule to sustain production targets.

Own Plant Maintenance

• Run the maintenance program to control repair costs and elevate equipment operating efficiency.
• Own use of the online preventive maintenance platform (eMaint) to schedule, track, and improve PM activities.
• Research, compare, and recommend new service vendors; choose cost- and time-effective repair options.

Lead people and performance

• Supervise 14–16 direct reports; mentor, coach, and develop the team through performance planning and appraisals.
• Plan labor, estimate worker-hour requirements, and delegate work across Maintenance, the Die Room, and the CNC Room.
• Initiate or recommend hiring, discipline, and termination actions; administer company policies.
• Partner with customers to confirm requirements are met and issues are resolved promptly.

Safety and housekeeping

• Champion a safe, orderly workplace and ensure adherence to all safety and housekeeping standards.

What you bring

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5–7 years of experience leading people.
• Hands-on capability in heavy equipment repair; mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
• Strong electrical repair skills, including work with industrial electrical systems.
• Boiler operation experience.
• CNC machine setup and changeover skills.
• Hydraulic systems knowledge and component service.
• Mechanical systems and component repair expertise.
