TITLE: Senior Manager of Grassroots Leadership
LOCATION: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)
REPORTS TO: Associate Director of Policy & Advocacy
JOB TYPE: Full-Time
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
PAY RANGE: $58,000 – $72,000
SCHEDULE: Standard office hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
This position requires occasional evening and weekend hours based on events,
programmatic, and other scheduling needs.

Position Summary
Mujeres Latinas en Acción (Mujeres) seeks a Senior Manager of Grassroots Leadership to lead our grassroots community engagement and leadership development efforts. This position will cultivate relationships with community members and emerging leaders, strengthen coalition partnerships, and oversee our Community Engagement and Community Health Worker Teams. The ideal candidate is a passionate organizer, skilled facilitator, and inspiring team leader committed to advancing social justice and building community power.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, and activate community leaders through leadership academies, advocacy
teams, and grassroots campaigns.
- Build strong relationships with members, coalition partners, and community leaders.
- Supervise and support the Community Engagement and Community Health Worker
Teams.
- Mobilize members and leaders for actions, campaigns, and Mujeres’ signature events.
- Support cross-departmental collaboration and strategic planning on advocacy,
development, and communications initiatives and corresponding evaluations and
reporting.
- Contribute program data and impact stories to strengthen grant-writing and reporting.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- 3–5 years of experience in leadership development, community organizing, or advocacy
campaigns, including staff supervision.
- Deep experience working in Chicago’s Latine communities (Little Village or nearby
areas strongly preferred).
- Bilingual in Spanish and English required.
- Skilled facilitator with experience leading trainings, workshops, or community
meetings.
- Familiarity with local/state policy processes and grassroots advocacy.
- Strong relationship-building and team leadership skills.
- Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends.
- Experience with Latine, immigrant, or social justice organizations highly desirable.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- This position has a hybrid work schedule which includes weekly in office presence.
- Standard office environment.
- Must be able to occasionally lift items weighing up to 20 lbs.
- Travel to other Mujeres office locations.
- Work evenings and weekends as needed.

through Labor Day.
