Technician

Shift Technician

The Shift Technician will be assigned primarily to the Base Crew, M-F days. The Shift Technician can also be assigned to operating shifts and work the same rotating shift schedule as Operations Department employees, which is currently a 12-hour shift rotation. The Shift Technician is a multi-disciplinary classification, able to perform operations duties and maintenance duties including but not limited to electrical, control and instrument, mechanical, welding and use of machine tools. Shift Technicians must be capable of and are expected to plan, schedule and perform all aspects of their job while working independently. Employees and families are eligible for health, dental, and vision insurance. Pay range is $42.25-52.18 per hour.

Desired:

• Industrial Trade School Certificate in welding or graduate of Military Training School (Form DD-214 required), or associate in applied science - Welding.
• Course of study to include: Welding symbols & drawings
• Metallurgy
• Heliarc welding
• Shielded Metal Arc welding
• Mig welding
• Dissimilar metals welding
• Arc gouging
• Oxygen/acetylene torch
• Plasma torch
• Metal fabrication & lay-out
• Hand & Power tools
• Rigging
• Preheat & Post Heat principles

Job Requirements:

• Successful completion of annual welding re-certification
• Overtime available for overtime assignments
• Ability to work from heights as required (ladder, scaffolding, skyclimber, etc.)
• Ability to work in confined spaces as required
• Ability to push, pull, or lift minimum of 50 pounds
• Walking, standing, bending, and climbing as required
• Work environment (hot, cold, dusty, noisy, inside building, and outdoor)
• Must be medically qualified to use a respirator at all times (clean shaven)
• Must be a member of the plant's CSR team
• Must pass preemployment welding test

*Must be clean shaven at all times while on site
