We’re working with a telecommunications client looking for an experienced Fiber Splicing Trainer to join their training team. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys teaching and mentoring future fiber technicians while using their hands-on field experience to help others learn.

Location: Office-based (onsite instruction)

Travel: Up to 25%

About the Role

You’ll lead hands-on training sessions in fiber optic splicing, testing, and installation. The goal is to help students build strong technical skills and safe work habits while keeping the training up to date with industry standards.

What You’ll Do

• Teach fusion, ribbon, and single-fiber splicing techniques.
• Show students how to use OTDRs, cleavers, power meters, and other tools.
• Guide proper cable prep, tray setup, and enclosure installation.
• Emphasize safety and OSHA-compliant work practices.
• Help update and improve training materials and lessons.
• Evaluate students and give helpful feedback.
• Maintain and set up training equipment.
• Assist with field emergencies sporadically.
• Work with team members and partners to keep training relevant to industry needs.

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of fiber splicing and testing experience.
• Skilled in using fusion splicers (Fujikura, Sumitomo, or similar).
• Experience with high-count ribbon and single-fiber splicing required. (fusion and mechanical)
• Enjoys mentoring or teaching others.
• Strong communication and organization skills.
• Comfortable teaching in classrooms, labs, and field settings.
• Certifications such as FOA CFOT, ETA Fiber Optics Installer, or BICSI are a plus.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is helpful but not required.
