School Social Worker [81952] (Lake County)

We’re currently seeking a School Social Worker for an Extended School Year (ESY) , school-based assignment in Lake County, IL .

This role is well-suited for a professional who enjoys short-term, focused support, values collaboration, and is passionate about supporting students’ social-emotional needs in a school setting.

Position Details:

• Location: Lake County, IL (in-person only)
• Dates: June 15 – July 26
• Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. (No Fridays)
• Grade Range: EC–12

Responsibilities:

• Provide school-based social work services aligned with students’ IEPs and social-emotional goals.
• Support students’ behavioral, emotional, and social development in an ESY setting.
• Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to promote student success.
• Deliver individual and group support as appropriate based on student needs.
• Participate in team meetings, documentation, and required ESY program activities.

Qualifications:

• Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker (SSW) endorsement.
• Prior school-based or youth-focused social work experience preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work onsite and support a short-term ESY assignment.
