SENIOR PROGRAM MANAGER - PHARMA COMMERCIAL OMNICHANNEL

Location: Mettawa, IL (Hybrid - 3 days onsite)

Compensation Range: $85 - 100 per hour


Our client, a leading global biopharmaceutical company, is seeking an expert-level Senior Program Manager to drive the delivery of a high-visibility, large-scale multi-workstream marketing platform initiative within their Commercial HCP (Healthcare Professional) Marketing division.


Reporting directly to the Commercial Lead, this senior-level, independent contract role will take operational ownership of a critical workstream focused on Content Tagging/Metadata Strategy and marketing platform optimization. This position is built for a seasoned executioner who can step in with zero ramp-up time, cut through cross-functional ambiguity, accelerate decision velocity, and enforce accountability across a matrixed enterprise environment.



Responsibilities:

1. Program Management & Agile Delivery

• Own the end-to-end master program plan, mapping out clear milestones, interdependencies, decision gates, and escalation triggers across active and future workstreams.
• Run structured, high-efficiency workstream cadences-facilitating working sessions, driving aggressive agendas, and ensuring follow-through on action items.
• Manage the Jira program board, coordinating Epic and User Story progression, requirements tracking, and sprint planning for hybrid technical/business squads.
• Maintain a real-time centralized program dashboard to provide senior leadership with absolute transparency into workstream health and blockers.

2. Deliverable Tracking & Cross-Functional Accountability

• Maintain a comprehensive, centralized deliverable tracker logging committed dates, owners, and completion status across IT, Analytics (APEX), and Functional Leads.
• Actively follow up on dependencies owed by cross-functional colleagues; when delays occur, formally document the source, the rationale provided, downstream impacts, and the agreed-upon path forward to create an auditable record of accountability.
• Escalate unresolved bottlenecks to the Program Lead with comprehensive, bulletproof history logs and recommended resolution options.

3. Governance, Process Documentation & Scaling

• Own the creation, maintenance, and version control of all program governance, approval workflows, change management policies, and operating procedures.
• Translate complex decisions made in fluid working sessions into clear, structured process documentation immediately actionable by all teams.
• Build a scalable documentation framework and replication playbooks, allowing future brands, headcount, and workstreams to onboard independently without draining the Program Lead's time.
• Maintain the centralized program knowledge repository, keeping all decisions, feedback logs, and technical outputs organized and accessible.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 8+ years of dedicated program or project management experience within a pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences commercial operations setting.
• Technical Tools: Mastery of the Adobe Creative Suite / Creative Cloud, Advanced Jira/Confluence management, and standard enterprise productivity tools (MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Leadership Style: A "player-coach" who is comfortable sitting in strategy meetings with senior stakeholders one hour, and digging deep into the technical "weeds" of user stories and metadata tagging the next.
• Communication: Exceptional diplomacy skills with the ability to provide constructive pushback to senior leaders and hold matrixed teams to tight timelines.
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent verified work experience.
