Account Executive - Specialty
This role will be responsible for taking ownership of a diverse customer base within the Alternative Markets and/or Specialty Retail channel, expanding our footprint and delivering best-in-class service to our clients and retail partners. Their ideas and insights will shape strategic direction, influence decision-makers, and create lasting relationships.
Here’s a Taste of What You’ll Be Doing:
- Build and nurture strong relationships with category buyers, operations leaders, demand planning, category management, and other key stakeholders.
- Develop and execute strategic joint business plans (JBP) using a cross-functional approach to deliver mutual growth.
- Lead sales processes from planning through execution—ensuring excellence in deliverables, timelines, and communications.
- Optimize net sales and margin by managing promotional spend and trade budgets effectively.
- Leverage syndicated and POS data to identify growth opportunities and pivot strategies as needed.
- Be a champion of internal collaboration to deliver best-in-class service and aligned execution across all retail partners.
Recipe for Success
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing or related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of related sales experience. Must have prior experience in CPG sales with snack & confectionary products, ideally working with national or regional retailers at the headquarter level.
- Prior experience with Specialty Retailers (NTO/Away from Home) including Ranch/Farm, E-Commerce.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and grow accounts, build strong relationships, provide excellent service and drive sales performance.
- Experience developing data-driven strategic plans and executing them in a competitive sales environment.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent time management, organization, communication and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel to client meetings, trade shows/industry events.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, auto insurance at company policy limits and an acceptable motor vehicle record driving record to meet conditions of the company’s hired/non-owned auto policy.
