Join our Environmental Compliance team as an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Compliance Consultant and play a pivotal role in shaping innovative solutions for projects. Based out of Chicago, Illinois, you will assist a team of project managers, scientists, geologists, and engineers in delivering environmental services on time and within budget for world class projects. You will work with a knowledgeable and supportive group of professional staff as you conduct data analysis including air and greenhouse gas emissions; create technical reports documenting completed activities and results; review regulations and create compliance demonstrations; plan and execute field activities including observations, auditing, soil sampling, and groundwater sampling; support the preparation of environmental permit applications and compliance reports.

Here's what you'll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering or other closely related technical degree.
  • A minimum of three years of professional experience including air quality project experience, including permitting, monitoring, and reporting; water quality project experience, including stormwater and wastewater; waste management and disposal experience; and development of SPCC plan experience.
  • Experience support field efforts.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous development and active engagement in professional networks, company communities of practice groups, or similar.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with clients, contractors, and teammates.
  • Proven organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with state and federal regulations and regulatory processes.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
  • 40-hr HAZWOPER certification or the ability to attain this certification.
  • US citizenship.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Master’s degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering or other closely related technical degree.
  • Professional Engineer or Project Management Professional (PE or PMP) or ability to obtain and maintain licensure.
  • Familiarity with representing clients to stakeholders, including regulatory agencies.
  • Experience as a Project Manager, including scope, schedule, and budget management.
  • Experience in developing, reviewing, and implementing work plans and quality assurance project plans.
  • Experience with project and account management tools and applications, such as cost pricing, project statusing and tracking, and customer account relationship tools.
  • Proven experience developing winning proposals and successfully managing projects with respect to clients, contracts, stakeholders, scope, schedule, budget, diverse teams, quality, risk, change, and profit.
  • Demonstrated business development and client service skills, including the ability to identify sales opportunities, lead or participate in sales efforts, close deals, manage scope changes, and write proposals.

And certain roles may be eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, performance discretionary bonus, and stock.

The base salary range for this position is $74,700.00 to $115,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
