Position Overview

Our client, a leading national law firm, is seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate Law Clerk to join its growing Commercial Real Estate team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated legal professional who enjoys working on sophisticated commercial real estate transactions in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play an integral role in supporting lawyers throughout the transaction lifecycle, from due diligence and title review to closing and post-closing documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist lawyers with commercial real estate purchase, sale, leasing, and financing transactions.
• Conduct title, off-title, and due diligence searches, and prepare clear, accurate reports.
• Prepare and register documents through electronic land registration systems.
• Draft requisitions, closing documents, transaction books, and final reporting documents.
• Coordinate transaction closings while communicating with clients, lenders, municipalities, and other external stakeholders.
• Review title issues and assist in resolving registration and procedural matters.
• Manage multiple files simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and documentation is complete and accurate.
• Maintain electronic files, organize transaction documents, and support matter management throughout the lifecycle of each file.
• Provide exceptional client service while working closely with lawyers and other members of the legal support team.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a Commercial Real Estate Law Clerk, preferably in a law firm environment.
• Law Clerk Diploma, Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario (ILCO) Certificate, or equivalent education.
• Strong knowledge of Registry, Land Titles, Polaris, and electronic land registration systems.
• Experience conducting title and off-title searches and preparing closing documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a professional and client-focused approach.
• French language proficiency is considered an asset.
