Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Product Manager to join our dynamic Design to Value (DTV) team. The purpose of DTV is to shape revenue growth and margin expansion opportunities of our product lines through a multi-lens view of consumer, competitive, cost and design insights. As the Senior Product Manager, you will play a pivotal role in defining and executing our DTV product strategy, ensuring that we continue to exceed customer expectations and stay at the forefront of the industry.
Position Location: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule based out of Deerfield, IL.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a customer-centric product strategy and experience for our branded businesses, that drives impactful profitable growth.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and plan the DTV product roadmap, focusing on delivering compelling user experiences that provide improved value at enhanced margins.
- Conduct market research, competitive product benchmarking and customer/ consumer interviews to gain valuable insights into user needs and preferences, to help define DTV products and project requirements.
- Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a unified vision for DTV products.
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data analysis to make informed product decisions and drive continuous improvements for DTV projects.
- Support the team and project through a stage-gate development process.
- Analyze both our and the competitor’s business through a 4P lens (product, price, promo and placement), including on-line and in-store experience, consumer reviews, etc. to identify DTV opportunities.
- Understand internal functional pain points that could generate efficiency improvements when delivering consumer value through DTV projects.
- Define the future product line-up that incorporates consumer/customer defined value drivers, pricing strategy, channel considerations and cost initiatives, enabling revenue growth at improved margins.
- Align with the Consumer Insights team on the market research that is required to understand customer behavior, needs and benefits, feature-value, UX, etc., helping define DTV product requirements and project scope.
- Align with the Innovation team on research to assess innovation concepts and prototypes, messaging/product claims, etc. for DTV projects.
- Align with the Platform team on a strategy to reduce unnecessary variation, enabling low-cost designs, improved quality and improved speed to market.
- Work with the brand, category, sales, engineering, industrial design, manufacturing, and sourcing teams to move the projects forward, make key decisions, and ensure the target business case and KPI’s are delivered through a stage-gate process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or related field.
- 7+ years of proven experience in DTV, Product Development, Category Management, or Market Research.
- Strong experience developing concise strategies based on customer insights.
- Experience in assessing the financial health of product portfolios.
- Experience in benchmarking with competitive product portfolio & market analysis.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives in agile environments.
- Analytical mindset with data-driven decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders at various levels.
- Creative thinker with a passion for innovation and consumer experiences.
Additional Information
Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $100,000 USD - $143,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
