Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer for John Deere in Chicago, IL, you will:

• Develop and maintain a robust SIEM for the Product Security Operations Center at John Deere, leveraging AWS technologies (S3, EC2, Lambda) to centralize data storage and ensure scalable data ingestion and processing
• Implement and standardize data formats for advanced analytics and threat detection, utilizing serverless computing and containerization for resilient application deployment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data seamlessly and continuously enhance security capabilities, staying updated with the latest industry trends
• Ensure compliance with security policies and maintain comprehensive documentation for all processes and systems.
• 50% remote work allowed. Must live within normal commuting distance of the worksite.

What Skills You Need

• 3 years of experience in understanding the complete IoT ecosystem, including devices, gateways, cloud services, and applications. This encompasses both edge and cloud computing paradigms
• 3 years of experience in use software development techniques and protocols such as MQTT and Lambda functions
• 5 years of experience in design and implement the software application with microservices architecture using Java/J2EE technologies, Python, RESTful web services, Spring Boot and database technologies
• 5 years of experience in implement a continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline to automate the building, deployment, and operation of software applications. Utilize GitHub Actions and shell scripts to achieve continuous delivery. Provision infrastructure on AWS using various services such as EC2, ECS, Fargate, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, Aurora PostgreSQL, and load balancers, leveraging Terraform for infrastructure as code
• 4 years of experience in use AWS big data technology like EDL and Databricks to access and correlate log sources to create alerts based on business rules to find security violations. Use Palantir to move data into Databricks for analysis and Spark to filter data needed

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field plus 5 years related experience.
